The Umm Al Quwain wastewater treatment plant is located at the border between Umm Al Quwain & Ras Al Khaimah, U.A.E.. The plant has a capacity of 5800 m3/day and treats sewage of domestic grade.
The process implemented is a SBR (Sequence Batch Reactor) and the source of the wastewater is transported to the plant via tankers. The treated effluent product is of high re-use potential and is used for irrigation, landscaping and other applications.
The generated sludge is removed from the site to the local landfill.
